Welcome! I’m Lisa Harris-Deans, the owner of Moor Sewing, and I’m looking forward to helping you create a beautiful home with our handmade curtains, blinds and cushions.
No two projects are ever the same, which is one of the things I love about my job.
Whether we are hand-crafting bespoke soft furnishings or giving items a new lease of life with our alterations service, I truly believe that you can see the care and pride in our work in every stitch!

Taking the time to get to know you and what you are looking for is really important to us so that we can create curtains or blinds that are perfect for your home.
Believe it or not, my career started in the motor industry! But I’ve always been creative, although I only discovered the pleasures of sewing after I had my children, when my mother-in-law gave me my first sewing machine. I was soon hooked, making everything from bunting and bags to clothes and costumes for family and friends. The more I did, the more I learnt.
Having always wanted a business of my own, Moor Sewing was a natural next step. I took on small projects locally and studied for a Professional Diploma in Handmade Curtains, Blinds and Soft Furnishings. I also spent some time working in a fabric shop, experience which has proved to be very useful when I am helping our customers choose the right fabric for their project.
As Moor Sewing has grown, I now work with a trusted team of skilled seamstresses so that I can continue to provide a hands-on service, offering personal consultations to advise on the best styles, colours and designs to bring your ideas together.
It’s not just about making gorgeous curtains and soft furnishings. I want you to have something that you will fall in love with and that you can’t wait to have as part of your home.
